The Best Phuket Tours, Ranked

Twenty-six tours, tickets and transfers, ranked by what travellers actually say about them.

Phuket has an overwhelming number of tours on sale and a great many of them are the same trip under different names. This list ranks the ones we would book ourselves, weighing rating, number of reviews, value and how well each fits a typical stay.

Ratings, review counts and “from” prices come from GetYourGuide’s partner feed in October 2026 and will have moved a little since — every title links to the live listing. If you only have time for two trips, make them one day at Phi Phi and one in Phang Nga Bay.

How we rank

We start from GetYourGuide’s own data — rating and number of reviews — and then apply judgement: does the itinerary make sense, is the price fair for what is included, and does it cover something different from the tours above it? A 4.9 from 400 reviews can outrank a 4.3 from 4,000, but not automatically.

A note on elephants

Phuket has many elephant attractions and the word “sanctuary” is not regulated. We list only venues that do not offer riding or shows. Welfare groups increasingly advise against bathing with elephants as well; if that matters to you, choose an observation-only visit such as the canopy walkway tour. More in the travel guide.

What we left out

Phuket FantaSea is sold on GetYourGuide, but its current listing has too few reviews for us to rank; Carnival Magic, the sister park next door, is listed instead. We also skip animal shows and tiger attractions.

Best Phuket tours: FAQs

Frequently asked questions

What is the number one tour in Phuket?

By bookings, a speedboat day trip to the Phi Phi Islands and Maya Bay. Our top pick is the Maya Bay, Phi Phi and Bamboo Island tour with more than twenty thousand reviews.

Phi Phi or James Bond Island?

Phi Phi for beaches, clear water and snorkelling; Phang Nga Bay (James Bond Island) for scenery and canoeing in calm water. In the monsoon months Phang Nga Bay is the more reliable choice.

Which tours are best with children?

The Phang Nga Bay big-boat tour, the Khai Islands half day, Racha and Coral Island, the water park and the elephant sanctuaries. Avoid long speedboat crossings with very young children.

Which tours run in the rainy season?

Phang Nga Bay trips run all year. Phi Phi runs most days but can be rough, and Maya Bay usually closes in August and September. The Similan Islands are closed from mid-May to mid-October. Land tours, cooking classes and shows are unaffected.
